Giobagnara Art Edition

Curated by Nick Vinson, Giobagnara Art Edition brings the visual languages of Gary Hume and Martino Gamper into the tactile medium of leather marquetry. Selected paintings by Hume are reinterpreted through leather inlaid flush into aluminium, while Gamper explores the expressive possibilities of geometry across sculptural vessels, furniture and wall compositions.

The precision of the making allows each artist’s approach to colour and form to remain distinctly recognisable. Suede lends depth to a coloured surface; polished metal introduces reflected light; a mirrored section draws the surrounding room into the work. Produced in Italy in numbered and signed editions of 12, the artworks invite a close, everyday relationship with contemporary art.
