Editor's notes

Yellow and amber give The Tenth Archipelago Tray by Gary Hume for Giobagnara Art Edition a luminous character. Developed from his 2020 painting, the image is realised in suede marquetry set flush into aluminium. The warmth of the leather colours meets the cooler reflections of the metal, giving the surface a lively balance.

The largest of the three Hume trays, it allows the composition to unfold across a generous horizontal plane. A coordinating aluminium stand, sold separately, also permits upright display, bringing the image into clearer view on a console or shelf. Made in Italy in a numbered and signed edition of 12.
