From Runway to Playroom: Bottega Veneta Beanbag Safari
Spotted: Bottega Veneta stepping up the game this season, and trust me, it’s not just about the clothes. Saturday night’s showspace at Milan Fashion Week wasn’t your typical runway affair — no stiff benches or bougie bistro chairs here. Instead, guests got cozy on 460 leather-crafted, animal-shaped beanbags. Yes, you heard that right. Creative director Matthieu Blazy wanted to bring out our inner child, and boy, did he deliver. Think plush safari, but make it Italian chic.
Inspired by Spielberg’s E.T. (you know, that closet scene with all the toys), Blazy took a page out of a kid’s dream world. We’re talking fifteen different animal shapes, all based on the iconic Zanotta's Sacco easy chair, originally designed in 1968. It’s nostalgia meets high fashion — Blazy’s words, not mine: ‘In a kid’s world, everything is possible.’
And now, for the real tea: Bottega’s beanbag zoo is officially up for grabs. Yep, ‘The Ark’ collection has landed on their website, and it’s as exclusive as it gets — only two of each animal are up for sale, starting from a casual €6.000 and up to €8.000. Fancy an elephant in your living room? Maybe a horse with a detachable tail? Get in line, because the next drop’s not until December at Design Miami. Act fast, because nothing says “I’ve arrived” quite like lounging on a nappa leather bear x
P.s. Out of lifestyle categories by luxury fashion brands Bottega Veneta's one might be among my favorites.
